ever since I was a child I always have hobbies. I once collected comics at a regular basis. when I was high school I buy at least 2 per week. I also made a lot of money selling some of those;) then some basketball cards at the time of one of my favorite players, Kevin garnet. when I went to college I've gotten into magic cards and up to now it remains a hobby of mine. I don't know why but its a game that is so great and addictive I cant leave it behind.

I was introduced to the game at the time of tempest, the first deck that I built around tempest was a shadow deck based upon the fast cheap almost unblockable shadow creatures (dauthi slayer, horror), backed by removal (terror, diabolic edict), non shadow blockers (drudge skeleton) and my killer card was howl from beyond. the entire deck was almost all commons no single card was worth more than 10 pesos at that time.

now that deck which was once back and white evolved into my current suicide black deck. All decks here unless specified is Type 1

  Suicide Black:

20 Swamp
1 volraths stronghold

4 Dark Ritual

2 Skittering Skirge
3 Sarcomancy
2 Drinker of Sorrow
4 Carnophage
1 Nantuko Shade
4 Dauthi slayer
3 Graveborn Muse

3 Nevinyrral's Disk
4 Duress
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Diabolic Edict
1 Hatred

I haven't completed this deck until now. I never had a chance to own Phyrexian Negator and Powder Keg. My target is acquire 4 Hypnotic specters and to complete my Sarcomancy, Nantuko Shade. I use Drinker of Sorrow to proxy the Phyrexian Negators and Nevinyrral's Disk for the Powder Keg. Problem of this deck is Sligh, burn will forever be the problem of the suicide deck as you sacrifice life for speed. but on a really good draw that involves playing hatred on turn two, there's not much decks that can compete with a turn 2 kill.

Suicide is an all out aggresive strategy something great for the begginers of the game. My other deck is a combo deck which does not use creatures to attack like the aggro strategy, but rather it depends on the interactions of some cards to win. My next deck is probably the most creative and most technical deck I have is my Aluren Deck.

 Aluren Deck

1 Underground River
4 Hickory Woodlot
1 Grand Coliseum
4 Salt Marsh
7 Forest
7 Island

1 Wall of Blossoms
4 Counterspell
2 Wall of Roots
4 Raven Familiar
4 Cavern Harpy
3 Wirewood Savage
4 Propaganda
4 Man o War
1 Maggot Carrier
1 Soul Warden
1 Brainstorm
3 Aluren
4 Impulse

the main goal of this deck is to play aluren. if aluren gets into play a bunch of combos are already possible.

aluren in play

combo 1 wirewood savage + cavern harpy= infinite draw of cards

combo 2 cavern harp+raven familiar= pay 1 life draw 3 cards and place 2 at the bottom of your library- repeat until you get your wirewood savage combo or until you cannot pay life whichever comes first.

wirewood savage lets you draw a card when a beast comes to play. cavern harpy is a beast that must return a blue or black creature to your hand whenever it comes to play if there is no black or blue creature it returns itself into owners hand but since it has comes to play the wirewood savage ability would trigger and lets you draw a card. when aluren is in play, there is no casting cost and so you may draw your entire library. when that happens, you can find your soul warden and maggot carrier for the next combo.

combo 3 cavern harpy+ soul warden= infinite life

combo 4 2 manowar + soul warden= infinite life

soul warden lets you gain 1 life when a creature comes to play, with cavern harpy since it can bounce itself infinitely under aluren it gives you infinite life. you can also use 2 manowar to return each other to your hand infinitely and gain infinite life. after you achieve infinite life its time to layeth the smacketh down with maggot carrier.

combo 5 carvern harpy + maggot carrier= infinite life lost for both players.

when maggot carrier comes to play each player loses 1 life. you can return maggot carrier back and forth from your hand via aluren and cavern harpy and since you have infinite life from  soul warden, you just need to bounce him for 20 times and you win. since maggot carrier make life losses it cannot be prevented no cop black no nothing!

how fast can we make all this combo? with the right draw and hickory woodlot as early as turn 3! a turn 3 win! hahahahaha!

my next deck is still in my favorite magic color which is black. My first deck was a mono-black aggro, this one is mono-black control.

MBC Mono Black Control (type 1)

23 Swamp
3 Cabal Coffers

26 land

2 Undead Gladiator

1 Mind Twist                                                   3 Innocent Blood
1 Chimeric Staff
4 Duress
4 Smother
1 Chainer's Edict
2 Tainted Pact
2 Diabolic Tutor
1 Mutilate
4 Diabolic edict
4 Drain Life
1 Corrupt
2 Skeletal Scrying
1 Mind Sludge                                                1 Necropotence

MBC Mono Black Control (type 2)

23 Swamp
3 Cabal Coffers

26 land

2 Undead Gladiator
1 Nantuko Shade

1 Riptide Replicator
4 Duress
4 Smother
1 Chainer's Edict
2 Tainted Pact
2 Diabolic Tutor
1 Mutilate
4 Infest
4 Innocent Blood
4 Corrupt
2 Skeletal Scrying
1 Mind Sludge

this is my type1/ type2 deck since the components of it are almost the same and the game play is almost the same. the deck use's the raw power of mono-black in terms of mana production via Cabal Coffers, and power cards of black that rely on the number of swamps you have.

this deck is a control deck which is all about board control. you want to clear the board of creatures with around 17 creature removal spells, some like mutilate does mass removal. you would also like to clear your opponents hand with discard. with cabal coffers and about 7 swamps you can generate 12 mana already which a drain life can do 20 damage in 2 turns. chimeric staff, nantuko shade and riptide replicator also gain power from this huge mana and when played after achieving board control can win games in around 2 turns. with the card drawing from skeletal scrying and necropotence and search via diabolic tutor and tainted pact you have all you need to achieve your 9 turn average kill.
